- 教材位置
- Chapter 1, §1.1; Chapter 2, §2.1; Chapter 3, §3.4 (with §3.1.1, §3.4.1 and §3.4.2)
- 前置知识
- All previous lessons; bring the concept pages and the wrong answers from Lessons 1–19.
- 本课作用
- This review reorganises twenty lessons into four clusters, separates five commonly merged concept pairs, and provides a four-level learning check with sample tasks.
- Compare the four concept clusters and place any new case in all four.
- Distinguish five commonly merged pairs and justify each separation with an example.
- Evaluate a claim with the four-level check: remember, understand, apply, analyse.
- Check two weak concepts against evidence and write a specific review plan.
After twenty lessons, the usual problem is not forgetting everything but blending everything: mobile commerce becomes a fourth transaction model, GMV becomes revenue, the platform becomes the seller, and the funnel becomes consumer psychology. This lesson adds no new topic. It puts each concept back in its proper place, then checks whether you can use it on a case you have never seen.
学习重点
- Four clusters are four questions about the same business, not four chapters to recite.
- Five concept pairs must stay separate: parties, ownership, DTC, profit scope and process viewpoint.
- A learning check is valid only when it asks for use, not for the expansion of an abbreviation.
可能的难点
- Students treat the four clusters as a new table of contents and try to memorise which lesson belongs where.
- They can define GMV, revenue and profit but cannot compute contribution from a short cost table.
- They call any brand with a website DTC, ignoring who owns the customer relationship and data.
核心概念
是什么 · 为什么重要 · 如何解释案例 · 与相近概念的区别
Cluster 1: parties and routes
- 是什么
- Who trades with whom and by what path. B2B, B2C and C2C are defined by the buyer and the purpose (§2.3.4); routes include direct B2C, B2B supply, marketplace, self-operated retail and offline channels (L05–L07). Mobile and social commerce are device and relationship dimensions, not additional party types (§2.5–2.6).
- 为什么重要
- Most downstream judgements about price, approval and risk depend on the party and the route; misclassifying them makes the rest of the analysis incoherent.
- 如何解释案例
- Ask three questions of any case: who buys, who sells, and where does the transaction complete.
- 与相近概念的区别
- One purchase can be B2C, mobile and social at the same time; the labels answer different questions and stack rather than compete.
- 如何运作
- Write the buyer, the seller and the route in one line; then add device and relationship as separate tags.
- 条件与限制
- Derived models such as B2B2C and C2B blur the boundaries; state which party bears the risk rather than forcing a label.
Cluster 2: channels and ownership
- 是什么
- Where supply comes from and who controls the channel. Industrial clusters and wholesale markets (L03–L04); marketplace, self-operated, brand operation and store-building (L06); discovery and transaction channels (L11–L12). Ownership covers inventory, price, customer relationship and data.
- 为什么重要
- Two sellers with the same product and the same revenue can carry very different risk depending on who owns the stock and who owns the customer.
- 如何解释案例
- Separate the channel (where the sale happens) from ownership (who bears the risk and keeps the relationship).
- 与相近概念的区别
- A marketplace is a channel, not a party type; self-operated is an ownership model, not a warehouse; DTC is a customer-relationship claim, not a website.
- 如何运作
- Draw two columns: channel and owner. Put stock, price, customer data and after-sales responsibility in the owner column.
- 条件与限制
- Ownership can be split: a seller may own stock but rent the audience, or own the brand but outsource fulfilment.
Cluster 3: demand and conversion
- 是什么
- Why buyers appear and where the process leaks. Shopping context and trust (L09–L10); discovery (L11); mobile, social, content and live (L12); the funnel (L13); the long tail (§3.4.2). §3.1.1 gives five buyer stages; §3.4.1 gives the seller's pipeline.
- 为什么重要
- Growth problems are usually located in one link: the wrong buyer, the wrong promise, the wrong channel, or a leak between stages.
- 如何解释案例
- Use buyer stages to interpret intention and funnel stages to measure loss; segment before concluding.
- 与相近概念的区别
- The funnel is the seller's quantity-and-conversion pipeline; the five stages are buyer psychology including post-purchase. They can be compared, not substituted.
- 如何运作
- Compute stage rates with denominators, then ask which buyer stage the leaking step corresponds to.
- 条件与限制
- Attribution across channels is approximate; a funnel shows where, not why, and cannot replace interviews or tests.
Cluster 4: cost and retention
- 是什么
- What remains and whether the buyer returns. The seven-item order ledger and the GMV/revenue/profit distinction (L08); pricing models including freemium, versioning, bundling, dynamic pricing, presale and crowdfunding (L16); retention, repurchase and acquisition payback (L14).
- 为什么重要
- Every earlier choice ends in a per-order number and a repeat rate; a model that cannot produce both is still a story.
- 如何解释案例
- Compute contribution after returns, then compare it with acquisition cost and repeat purchase over a defined window.
- 与相近概念的区别
- Contribution is not profit; gross margin is not cash; a large GMV is not a large revenue; high margin does not make a long credit period safe.
- 如何运作
- Contribution = price − goods − fulfilment − commission − payment − marketing − expected returns. Then multiply by repeat orders and subtract fixed costs.
- 条件与限制
- Teaching figures are illustrative; real cost structures vary by market, product and contract, and cash timing can dominate the accounting result.
The last lesson adds no new topic. It does something harder: it puts twenty lessons back into four clusters so that a new case can be located quickly. The usual problem after a course is not a blank memory but a merged one. Mobile commerce becomes a fourth transaction model, GMV becomes revenue, the platform becomes the seller, and the funnel becomes consumer psychology. Each merge feels efficient and produces wrong decisions. The review is therefore an exercise in separation, not recall.
The four clusters are questions, not chapters. Parties and routes ask who trades with whom and by what path. Channels and ownership ask who controls discovery, the transaction and the customer relationship. Demand and conversion ask why a buyer appears and where the process leaks. Cost and retention ask what remains per order and whether the buyer returns. A new case can be placed in all four at once; that is the point. The clusters are not mutually exclusive; they are four lenses on the same business.
Cluster one rests on §2.3.4: B2B and B2C differ in end users, approval, negotiation and volume. A business buyer purchases for a company; a consumer purchases for personal use; C2C is consumer to consumer. Routes into a market - direct B2C, B2B supply, platform, offline channel - are a second axis. Mobile and social commerce are not third and fourth party types: §2.5 defines mobile commerce by the device, and §2.6 defines social commerce by the relationship that enables the transaction. One purchase can be B2C, mobile and social at the same time.
Cluster two is about supply and control. Industrial clusters, factories, traders and wholesale markets determine what can be sourced and at what rhythm. Channels determine how the offer is discovered and where the transaction completes. Ownership decides who carries inventory, who sets price and who keeps the customer relationship and data. A marketplace seller may own the stock but rent the audience; a self-operated retailer owns both; a brand may own neither the factory nor the storefront but own the customer; a store-building tool sells capability, not customers. DTC is a claim about the customer relationship, not a synonym for having a website.
Cluster three moves from supply to demand. §3.1.1 describes five buyer stages: need awareness, information search, evaluation of alternatives, purchase, and post-purchase behaviour. §3.4.1 describes the seller's funnel: awareness, interest, consideration, intent, evaluation and purchase, measured by quantities and conversion rates. They can be laid side by side, but they are not the same object. A weak funnel stage tells you where the seller loses people; a buyer stage tells you what the buyer is trying to do. Context, trust, discovery and content sit between them.
Cluster four turns activity into money. The seven-item ledger from Lesson 8 - goods, marketing, inbound freight, last-mile, commission and payment, duties, and after-sales - produces contribution, not profit. GMV counts platform transactions including cancellations; revenue is the seller's recognised sales; profit subtracts all costs. Pricing models such as freemium, versioning, bundling, dynamic pricing, presale and crowdfunding change who pays, when and for what. Retention decides whether acquisition cost is recovered: a first order with positive contribution can still be a loss if the customer never returns and the acquisition cost is not amortised.
Five pairs deserve a final separation. B2B versus B2C is about the buyer and the purpose, not the amount. Platform versus self-operated is about who owns the goods and bears the selling risk; a platform can host self-operated stores. DTC versus store-building is about the customer relationship versus the tool: Shopify sells software, while a DTC brand uses it to own the relationship. GMV, revenue and profit are three scopes, not three synonyms. The funnel is the seller's pipeline; the five decision stages are the buyer's psychology, including post-purchase behaviour. Each pair can be tested with one question about ownership, scope or viewpoint.
The learning check has four levels. Remember: name the five B2C operating forms and define GMV. Understand: explain in your own words why platform GMV is not seller revenue. Apply: given a six-line cost table, compute contribution and decide whether a 10% ad increase is affordable. Analyse: two sellers report the same revenue but different contribution and returns; identify which assumption drives the difference and what evidence would decide. The levels are not a lesson sequence; they are a way to check whether a concept can be used or only recognised.
Wrong answers are diagnostic, not moral. Map each wrong question to a cluster, reread that lesson's concept section and case, then write a new question that tests the same distinction in a different context. If you confused the funnel with the decision stages, write a question about a returning customer's complaint. If you confused GMV with revenue, write a question about a platform headline. Retest after two days; if the distinction is still fuzzy, explain it aloud to someone outside the course. Keep the ticket visible for a week; a plan that is never revisited becomes another form of forgetting.
The course has limits. Its cases are teaching simulations; its figures illustrate structure, not market forecasts; it uses no real student records. The textbook and public sources support the frameworks, but they do not guarantee that a particular business will work. What the course can offer is a disciplined way to ask: who trades, who owns, why the buyer appears, where the process leaks, what remains, and whether the customer returns. That is also the best preparation for the next case you meet, inside or outside a classroom. If you can do that, the course has done its job; if not, you know exactly which cluster to reopen.
Example 1: same revenue, two cost structures
Seller A and Seller B both report US$30,000 revenue. A's variable costs total US$25,800, leaving US$4,200; B's total US$28,200, leaving US$1,800. The revenue line is identical; the decisions that follow are not. Contribution, not revenue, tells you which business can afford more advertising.
用到的概念: Cost and retention.
Example 2: one purchase, three labels
A consumer buys a phone case on a phone during a livestream. The purchase is B2C (party), mobile (device) and social/live (relationship and channel). None of the three labels contradicts the others, and none of them alone describes the business.
用到的概念: Parties and routes; classification dimensions.
Case: eight sentences about a new shop (teaching example)
- 背景与时间
- A teaching example, not a real student or shop. A student planning a small home-goods store on a marketplace writes eight sentences that mix dimensions, roles and scopes.
- 面临的问题
- Each sentence sounds plausible, but several merge concepts that the course separates. The task is to diagnose the error, name the cluster and rewrite the sentence so that it can be tested.
- 有证据的做法
- The eight sentences: (1) I do B2C, so I also do mobile commerce. (2) The platform is my seller. (3) Self-operated means I rent my own warehouse. (4) At US$100,000 GMV I have earned US$100,000. (5) The six funnel stages are the five consumer-decision stages. (6) Once a livestream works, I own private traffic. (7) Presale and crowdfunding are the same because both collect money first. (8) At 40% gross margin, a 90-day receivable is safe. Diagnose each, map it to a cluster and rewrite it.
- 可观察的结果
- A complete correction would read: (1) B2C is a party label; mobile is a device label; they stack but do not imply each other. (2) The platform matches and sets rules; the seller owns the goods and the fulfilment responsibility. (3) Self-operated means owning the goods and the selling risk; warehousing can be rented or outsourced. (4) GMV includes cancellations and returns; revenue is recognised sales and profit subtracts all costs. (5) The funnel is the seller's pipeline; the five stages are buyer psychology including post-purchase. (6) A public-platform livestream is public exposure; private traffic begins when viewers move to owned channels. (7) Presale sells a defined product before production; crowdfunding funds a product still in development. (8) Gross margin is not cash; a 90-day receivable ties up cash and can break a profitable order. These are teaching corrections, not findings about a real shop.
- 对应概念
- Four clusters; five concept pairs; GMV/revenue/profit; funnel versus decision stages; DTC and private traffic.
讨论问题
- Map each of the eight sentences to one cluster and name the error.
- Rewrite sentences 4 and 8 with correct numbers or a correct statement about cash.
- Which two sentences can both be true at the same time, and why?
- Choose two concepts you still find uncertain and write one test question for each.
教师分析提示
Do not let the class answer 'it depends' without naming what it depends on. For each sentence, ask which word carries the error: party, ownership, scope or viewpoint. Sentence 3 is the most common; sentence 6 is the most politically tempting.

Teaching schematic. The four clusters are four questions about one business, not exclusive chapters; every case belongs in all four.
怎样读这张图
- Read the concept map as four questions applied to the same business, not four separate topics.
- A case that fits only one cluster has not been analysed; it has only been labelled.
- The map is a teaching schematic; it does not imply that the four clusters are equal in importance for every business.

常见说法B2C equals mobile or social commerce.
需要澄清B2C is a party dimension; mobile is a device dimension and social is relationship-driven. They stack but are not equal.
常见说法The platform is the seller.
需要澄清The platform matches and sets rules; the seller bears product and fulfilment responsibility.
常见说法Self-operated means building your own warehouse.
需要澄清It means owning the goods and sales responsibility; warehousing can be owned, rented or outsourced.
常见说法GMV is revenue or profit.
需要澄清GMV includes refunds and cancellations; revenue is recognised sales, and profit deducts all costs.
常见说法A working livestream means private traffic.
需要澄清Streaming on a public platform is public exposure; private traffic forms only after viewers move to owned channels.
常见说法Presale and crowdfunding are identical.
需要澄清Presale sells a defined product with prepayment; crowdfunding funds development with different promises and risks.
- Which cluster do you use least when analysing a new case, and what does that omission cost you?
- Which of the five pairs is hardest to keep apart in your own writing, and why?
- If you could take one concept to work, which would it be, and what would you do with it first?
- Name two concepts you still find uncertain and the evidence that would settle them.
Personal review ticket
Turn vague uncertainty into two specific review topics with definitions, distinctions and test questions.
- 3 min List five concepts you are least sure about and sort each into a cluster.
- 3 min Write a one-sentence definition and the nearest-concept distinction for two of them.
- 3 min Write one test question for each, using a context different from the lesson.
- 3 min Swap with a partner; answer their questions and revise the ticket.
学生产出: A ticket with two review topics, two definitions, two distinctions and two new test questions.
教师参考分析
Reject 'review everything'. A useful ticket names a specific confusion, the lesson to reread and a question that would show the confusion is resolved. Check that the test question cannot be answered by expanding an abbreviation.
